Jasper 'adopted' us in early 2006 after preferring our family over his original one in the same neighborhood. A consummate lap cat with a very affectionate manner, Jasper is also a very effective hunter. He has cleared our lawns of mice and moles, toyed with snakes, snagged an occasional bird, and in May 2008 caught his biggest prize of all - a full-size squirrel! Jasper is a big, black, beautiful animal, from whiskers to claws, from ears to paws. His ears have suffered injuries from encounters with other anmials, but several visits to the veterinarian have patched him up.
